The Administration for Community Living (ACL) has released two new funding opportunities to eligible entities under the Lifespan Respite Care Program:
- State Program Enhancement Grants (HHS-2024-ACL-AoA-LRLI-0019)
- Grants to New States and States Re-Establishing Their Core Respite Infrastructures (HHS-2024-ACL-AoA-LRLR-0020)
Proposals are due Tuesday, June 11, 2024
ACL’s Lifespan Respite Care Program is designed to improve statewide access to quality respite care services for all family caregivers. Lifespan Respite Care programs are coordinated state systems of accessible, community-based respite care services for family caregivers caring for individuals of all ages, disabilities, and conditions. Respite care is planned or emergency temporary care for individuals and offers a break to family caregivers in need.
This grant supports collaboration with state and community-based respite organizations to launch or enhance accessible respite services for caregivers. Key goals include improving access to quality care, reducing caregiver stress, and ensuring the availability of respite care providers.
Applicants are encouraged to use the relevant components of the 2022 National Strategy to Support Family Caregivers as a guide when developing their application.
