Centering Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities During Crises & Emergencies

The Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities National Training Center (MHDD-NTC) is hosting a webinar to discuss how to focus on individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities’ mental health and well-being during disaster and emergencies.

Attendees can expect to learn:

• Advocacy strategies that center the needs and priorities of individuals with ID/DD during crises;
• Connections between structural violence and slow onset disasters;
• How exclusion during emergencies can cause injuries, death, and loss of property for individuals with disabilities; and
• How information and inclusion can reduce harm, save lives, and preserve personal property.
