Food assistance programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), play an important role in alleviating food insecurity. At the same time, these programs can also help improve health outcomes, thereby decreasing the cost of health care.

- Dr. Hilary Seligman is an Associate Professor at the University of California San Francisco in the Departments of Medicine and of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, where she directs the Food Policy, Health, and Hunger Research Program at the Center for Vulnerable Populations at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.
- Dr. Mithuna Srinivasan is a Research Associate at IMPAQ International, where she designs and implements policy-relevant research for social programs.
- Ms. Ginger Zielinskie is President & CEO of Benefits Data Trust, where she leads a diverse and dedicated team committed to transforming how people in need access essential benefits and services.
- Ms. Jennifer Pooler, Senior Research Associate at IMPAQ International, will moderate the session. Ms. Pooler conducts social science research and program evaluation in a variety of topic areas including SNAP, food security, nutrition education, and older adult health.
