Membership and Communications Manager

The National MLTSS Health Plan Association is seeking a Membership and Communications Manager. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage and expand membership and managing all communications efforts. 

Key Responsibilites: 

Membership Management

  •  Member Recruitment and Retention: Develop and execute strategies to attract new members and retain existing ones. Manage the membership lifecycle, including onboarding and engagement.
  • Member Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for members, addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Data Management: Oversee the membership database, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information. Analyze membership data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Member Benefits: Develop and manage programs and benefits that add value for members. Evaluate the effectiveness of these programs and adjust as needed.

Communications

  •  Content Creation: Develop and produce engaging content for newsletters, website updates, social media, and other communication channels.
  • Public Relations: Craft press releases, manage media relations, and coordinate with external stakeholders to enhance the organization’s visibility and reputation.
  • Internal Communication: Ensure effective communication within the organization, keeping staff and members informed of relevant updates and initiatives.
  • Marketing: Collaborate on marketing campaigns to promote events, programs, and membership benefits.

Qualifications: 

  •  Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree or certifications in relevant areas are a plus.
  • 1-2 years of experience in membership management, communications, or a related field, preferably within a non-profit or association environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in social media platforms, relationship development; familiarity with political and policy landscape related to healthcare, particularly Medicaid, Medicare and/or managed care preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
