This webinar will offer some practical suggestions based on the experiences in states that have already started the enrollment process.

The webinar will explain how the Marketplaces work for older adults, especially those who may soon become eligible for Medicare.

The webinar will address the growing problem of elder financial exploitation. The webinar will also cover the CFPB's consumer complaint process; the Managing Someone Else's money guides for financial caregivers; the Money Smart for Older Adults awareness program; and other resources to help participants and their communities.

The webinar will discuss the ongoing efforts of CMS to reduce and eliminate health disparities, and their work to encourage newly insured consumers to use preventive services and primary care.

The program will discuss how Partnership for Patients (PfP) and other federal stakeholders, including Hospital Engagement Networks (HENs), Community-based Care Transitions Programs (CCTPs), Quality Improvement Organizations (QIOs), and the Administration for Community Living (ACL), are aligned in their aims and how collaboration with local community partners have helped hospitals produce impressive reductions in 30-day readmissions through more effective care transition models.

The webinar will focus on nursing home admissions agreements, identifying the terms that elders and their advocates should be most wary of and explaining the protections that some states afford against enforcement of some of these terms. The webinar will also focus on arbitration clauses, attempts to hold family members liable for a resident's bills, purported waivers of a facility's liability, and improper grounds for eviction.

The webinar will discuss evaluation and management of pain in persons with dementia. Continuing education credit is available for many professionals. At the end of the webinar, the participants will be able to: identify behaviors that might indicate that a person with dementia is suffering from physical pain; utilize scales to assess pain in persons with moderate to severe dementia; describe a rational pharmacologic treatment approach to the management of pain; and discuss various non-pharmacologic interventions to reduce pain and promote emotional well being.

Presenters will review general information about 2-1-1 organizations and ADRCs, and highlight both successes and challenges they have faced in pursuing partnerships between the two types of organizations.

The National Senior Citizen Law Center is hosting a webinar titled: Consumer Protection in MLTSS: Good (and Not-So-Good) Enrollment and Disenrollment Practices. The webinar will examine and discuss how states handle enrollment to and disenrollment from Medicaid managed care long-term services and supports (MLTSS) plans. This webinar is the second in a series based on the Advocate's Library of Managed Long-Term Services and Supports Contract Provisions and will help advocates navigate and make best use of the Advocate's Library.
