Senate Passes Older Americans Act; ADvancing States Encourages House to Follow

On July 16, the Senate passed S. 192, the Reauthorization of the Older Americans Act, by unanimous consent. The bill funds critical services and supports for our nation's seniors. ADvancing States applauds Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee Chairman Lamar Alexander (R-TN), Ranking Member Patty Murray (D-WA), and Sens. Richard Burr (R-NC) and Bernie Sanders (I-VT) for their hardwork and leadership in the passing of this bipartisan legislation.

The S.192 bill now moves to the House for consideration. ADvancing States strongly encourages House members to pass the legislation and fund the key investments necessary to support older Americans.
