ADvancing States Submits Comments on CMS Access RFI

On Monday, April 18, 2022 ADvancing States submitted comments in response to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) request for information (RFI) on access to Medicaid Services. In the comments, ADvancing States discussed a wide range of issues concerning long-term services and supports (LTSS) and home and community-based services (HCBS). These included:

1. Technological needs and gaps that could be addressed to improve access and service coordination;
2. Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRCs), No Wrong Door Systems (NWDs), and Information and Referral/Assistance (I&R/A) networks that support outreach and eligibility processes; and
3. Program and policy changes that could expedite the eligibility and service delivery process.
