The I&R Support Center hosts webinars on a regular basis with I&R Specialists concerning topics of interest to those who work in the field of aging and disability Information and Referral/Assistance. Webinars are recorded and are available for on-demand viewing at no cost on ADvancing States IQ, our online learning center. Benefits Outreach: Promising Practices that Work

During this webinar, participants heard from ADvancing States and NCOA’s 2019 Innovations in Benefits Outreach contest awardees. Presenters shared about their state and local outreach practices to engage, educate, and assist individuals in need of benefits assistance. The New Jersey Division of Aging Services shared about NJSave and Feeding the Gulf Coast provided information about their senior food bag program.

State Systems and Resources for People Living With Traumatic Brain Injury

During this webinar, participants strengthened their knowledge of traumatic brain injury (TBI), the role of state TBI systems and programs, and I&R services for this population. Along with a national overview, this webinar featured two state TBI programs that have robust I&R systems for the people living with TBI and have partnered with other state agencies to broaden the reach of their programs.

Home Maintenance: Resources from the Here to Stay Program

This webinar described Here to Stay: Home Upkeep for All™, a new AARP Foundation program sponsored by The Hartford. Here to Stay provides tools and advice to make preventive home maintenance easier and more cost-effective for older adults through interactive online tools and in-person workshops in select communities. Participants learned ways to utilize Here to Stay resources to empower senior homeowners in their community to age more safely, cost-effectively, and confidently at home.
