On July 25, 2014, the Hawaii Executive Office on Aging, in partnership with the National Association of State United for Aging and Disabilities (ADvancing States) hosted an Elder Abuse Prevention Forum in Honolulu. This session gave professionals in all programs for older adults and persons with disabilities information about the types and prevalence of elder abuse, helped to integrate abuse prevention into training and services; and assisted in the development of multi-disciplinary teams in order to build Hawaii's approach to Elder Abuse Prevention.
