This webinar will discuss Oneida Nation’s experience during the transition from a 1915(c) waiver to providing home and community-based services under 1915(b). The webinar will describe Oneida Nation’s journey from providing HCBS based on a fee-for-service model to providing those services based on a managed-care model, summarize how 1915(b) waivers differ from 1915(c) waivers, identify unique problems with 1915(b) waivers that must be resolved during the transition from 1915(c) waivers and suggest strategies to transition into a 1915(b) environment.

 

 

 

Annaully, the John A. Hartford Foundation Business Innovation Award recognizes community-based organizations that are working to improve health outcomes and quality of life for older adults and people with disabilities. The runners-up for the 2021 Business Innovation Award were Daybreak’s Rapid Response Case Management Pilot (RRCM) and the Area Agency on Aging & Disabilities of Southwest Washington’s (AAADSW) Community Paramedicine program. These programs worked with multiple community partners to improve the health and quality of life of individuals who are use emergency services.

 

ACL's Office of Nutrition and Health Promotion Programs (ONHPP) is hosting a webinar to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Senior Nutrition Program. During this event, ONHPP will share details about the March anniversary and discuss the toolkit being developed to celebrate the program. ACL has chosen “Celebrate. Innovate. During this webinar, AmeriCorps will be discussing ways that volunterism can benefits older adults and boost civic engagement throughout the Aging Network. Erie County Department of Senior Services and Area Agency on Aging, Region One will share how they created volunteer opportunities that help older adults stay engaged and connected. Speakers will share tips and strategies for Aging Network organizations looking to develop similar opportunities for older adult volunteers.

 

This webinar will highlight opportunities to address food insecurity by connecting state partners and centering lived expertise, while discussing recent national exploration done by the Center for Health Care Strategies. It will feature insights from community members with lived expertise as well as state officials from Oregon and Indiana about opportunities to coordinate across Medicaid and SNAP to address food insecurity. Attendees will learn ways to incorporate the experiences of community members into program and policy decision-making.
