Thank you to all of the states and organizations who have responded with activities, ideas, and actions taken to address social isolation for older adults during the COVID-19 crisis. The following document combines responses received thus far. Please continue to submit state, CBO, and facility activities to ADvancing States so that we may continue to share practices from across the country. This new report from AARP explores the impact of age discrimination. The report measures the missed growth that the U.S. economy could have captured with better hiring practices and workplace retention initiatives. Findings show that the U.S. missed out on a potential $850 billion in GDP in 2018 and could lose out on $3.9 trillion in 2050 without intervention. The report also discusses how we can overcome age discrimination and capture the benefits of age inclusion in the future.

The 2019 Transportation Trends Report reviews popular transportation matters and provides in-depth analysis of each transportation topic. This analysis includes a summary of the major challenges, information about related opportunities, and a case example.

This issue brief discusses state policy trends using data from KFF’s 18th annual 50-state survey. It discusses policy areas such as implementation of electronic visit verification and value based payment models. The brief highlights key findings across the topics areas of HCBS program flexibility, MLTSS, and response to federal regulations

This brief includes the latest (FY 2018) Medicaid HCBS enrollment and spending data from KFF’s 18th annual 50-state survey. It contains data about per-enrollee spending on HCBS by target population and HCBS waiver waiting lists. This issue brief also includes tables with detailed state-level data. One key finding analyzed here is that most HCBS enrollees receive services provided at the state option.

This resource provides a summary of the ten most-reported scams the Senate Aging Committee's toll-free Fraud Hotline (1-855-303-9470) in 2019. Common instances reported include IRS impersonation scams, sweepstakes scams, and computer tech support scams. This report also summarizes common scams by state and provides tips for avoiding scams.

This issue brief explores the results from NCOA's survey on how the opioid epidemic impacts older adults and their caregivers. The brief explains the survey methodology, discusses key findings, and proposes recommendations for the aging network.

This report looks at how federal agencies can better meet the nutritional needs of older adults. The study examines how older adults' nutrition is connected to health outcomes and the extent to which federal nutrition guidelines address older adults' nutritional needs. It also outlines the challenges program providers face in meeting older adults' nutritional needs. GAO makes a series of recommendations for HHS and USDA to improve federal nutrition assistance programs for this population.
