CMS released a Notice of Funding Opportunity that will offer up to $110 million to expand access to home and community-based services (HBCS) through Medicaid’s Money Follows the Person (MFP) program. The new NOFO authorized under the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 (CAA) will make individual awards of up to $5 million to states and territories that are not currently participating in MFP. These funds will support states during the initial planning and implementation of their programs.

Veterans with disabilities may be entitled to additional resources to help pay for home care services, such as VA Aid and Attendance benefits and Housebound allowance. This training session will provide an overview of potential benefits, how to apply for them, and how they interact with Social Security benefits and Medicaid. The session is intended to help programs and advocates build their capacity to provide person-directed health and housing services to Veterans with disabilities.

 

 

The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS), housed within the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, has established a partnership with local community rehabilitation programs to serve people with brain injuries. The goal of the partnership is to connect people with brain injuries to competitive integrated employment through an individualized, self-directed, and holistic approach to services.

 

NADTC’s newest virtual course, Building Skills for Successful Transportation Program Delivery, aims to improve skills needed to develop accessible materials and collect data from surveys for transportation programs. The course wil explore how to use data to engage the community and improve services.

 

The four live course modules will be held on April 13, 20, 27 and May 4 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET.

 

CMS is hosting a webinair to highlight the unique challenges of quality measurement in rural settings, and share how CMS is working to address these issues to ensure equitable care is provided to all.
