Summary
Individuals aged 65 or older who did not sign up for Medicare Part B during the automatic, initial or special enrollment periods, can enroll in Part B during the General Enrollment Period (GEP). A person can sign up for Part B (medical insurance) during the annual Medicare GEP from January 1 through March 31. Individuals may be subject to a late enrollment penalty; however, if a person has limited income, they may be eligible for a Medicare Savings Program to help pay for the Part B premium and late enrollment penalty.
