Alderbrook 2007 - Washington

Washington states' Alderbrook 2007 was a “discussion” among some 150 people, about current attempts to implement The Working Age Adults Employment policy in communities statewide with the goal of learning from each other about how to do it better. This paper explores “what’s working” and how to improve and expand its' implementation. It's a discussion with wide reaching implications for any state interested in improving or implementing similar policies.

New State Strategies To Meet Long-Term Care Needs

States’ efforts to expand consumer-directed long-term care service programs, are often hindered by challenges related to costs, staffing and organizational issues, infrastructure requirements, and resistance from stakeholders. Yet states have developed a number of successful strategies for overcoming these challenges. Their experiences offer valuable insights, guidance, and encouragement to other states considering CDS. Project SEARCH school-to-work program - Washington

The Project SEARCH High School Transition Program is a school-to-work program that takes place entirely at the workplace. The goal for each student is competitive employment. The program provides real-life work experience combined with training in employability and independent living skills to help youths with significant disabilities make successful transitions from school to productive adult life. Consumer-Directed Home Care in the Netherlands, England, and Germany

To help understand the implications of consumer-directed programs abroad, AARP's Public Policy Institute commissioned a study to describe and analyze consumer-directed programs in the Netherlands, England, and Germany. Researchers completed in-person interviews with key stakeholders and conducted an in-depth literature review.

Medicaid HCBS Waiver Expenditures FY 2003 through FY 2008

This report and tables present Medicaid 1915(c) Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waiver expenditures data from Federal Fiscal Years 2003 through 2008. Each HCBS waiver is classified by population served in order to show the distribution of expenditures across long-term care populations. This report includes new target population categories to identify waivers that target particular developmental disabilities such as intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders.

Medicaid Long Term Care Expenditures FY 2008

This report presents Medicaid long-term care expenditures data in Federal Fiscal Year 2008 (Oct 2007 - Sept 2008). Table 1 shows national data from 1996 - 2008. Other tables present state-by-state data for nursing homes, ICF/MR, state plan personal care, state plan home health, 1915(c) waivers, 1115 waivers that provide HCBS, and other Medicaid services.
