This is The National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP) report entitled State Assisted Living Policy 2002. This comprehensive report examines current regulations and Medicaid reimbursement policies for assisted living facilities in each of the 50 states. The report includes detailed comparisons of state policy and a summary of each state's assisted living regulations.

This document is an Information Bulletin (# 54) on subsidized housing. The report includes a weblink and information on a \"new\" source of information available that can assist disability advocates find affordable and accessible units.

These slides were presented at the 2nd Annual Training Institute for State Mental Health Olmstead Coordinators (9/30/2002 - 10/2/2002). They provide a brief overview of the FY01 and FY02 Systems Change Grants, including charts depicting which states are focusing their efforts in areas such as housing, mental health, nursing facility transition, etc.

On November 13th and 14th in Washington, D.C. teams from Kentucky, Florida, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maryland, and Delaware and the District of Columbia participated in a Regional Housing Forum to increase understanding and shape the design and implementation of strategies that promote affordable and accessible housing choices for persons with disabilities. Forum participants generated recommendations for CMS and HUD to help support their systems change activities and improve housing choices.

Under 1115 Research and Demonstration waivers granted by HCFA, the CCDE program was implemented in three states: Arkansas, New Jersey, and Florida. Consumers are able to choose between traditional agency-delivered personal assistance services and their cash equivalent. Outcomes from the treatment and control groups are compared in areas such as client satisfaction, quality of care, costs, the types and amounts of personal assistance services received.

This study was designed to determine whether regulation effects the quality of care in licensed board and care home.

The Compendium contains basic information about each of the Systems Change Grantees. Each section is alphabetical by state. Information for each state includes: the name of the grantee organization, the title of the grant, the type of grant, the amount awarded and fiscal year awarded, the primary contacts for each grant, the target populations to be served under the grant, the primary goals and activities of each grant project, and a brief description of the grant activities.
