Reportable Events Policy & Procedures: Maryland

Maryland has developed this policy guide which describes the process, monitoring, reporting and oversight of Reportable Events for the Autism Waiver, Living at Home Waiver and Older Adults Waiver and also includes a flowchart and a Reportable Events Form. The purpose of this policy is to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of participants in the Home and Community-Based Services waivers by formalizing a process to identify, report, and resolve Reportable Events (ie., incidents or complaints).

Staying the Course: Trends in Family Caregiving

Informal caregiving has long been the most common source of long-term care for older persons with disability however; a number of factors such as demographic trends may reduce the supply of traditional family caregivers and changes in the LTC delivery system indicate the need to track the changes. This paper examines key trends in family caregiving patterns. The findings should help to inform public policy debates and the data provides evidence of the need to provide adequate long-term services.

Caregivers Without Coverage: The Facts About a Critical Gap in Long-Term Care

The first in a series of policy briefs from the Health Care for Health Care Workers campaign, this four-page paper provides basic facts about the health care crisis for direct-care workers. More than one in three workers has no health insurance, contributing to the instability of the workforce that undermines the quality of services for consumers. The brief also explains why direct-care workers lack access to health insurance and offers initial solutions for expanding coverage.

Grading the Evidence for Consumer-Driven Services Webcast

Speakers presented the evidence grading pyramid, along with the specific levels of evidence for models such as recovery self-management, drop-in centers, advance directives, and self-directed care. Quality Management and Performance Measure Development RFPs: Ohio

Ohio is seeking a single organization/individual to assist with development of two ODMR/DD’s Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement projects. The first RFP is for Quality Management strategy, the program and data analysis leading to implementation of the quality information management system and the use of a data for decision-making in a quality cycle.
