Legal Basics: Protecting Older Adults Against Fraudulent Schemes and Scams

Event Description: 

The National Center on Law and Elder Rights (NCLER) is hosting a webinar to provide an overview of the frauds and scams aimed at older adults, discuss legal protections, and provide resources to aid older adults defrauded by the individuals and business that promote these scams. Older adults are often targeted by individuals promoting fraudulent schemes and scams, due to savings an assets accumulated over a lifetime, and most frauds and scams go unreported. Presenters will discuss efforts by the Federal Trade Commission to prevent older adults from falling victim to these scams.

Trauma Informed Care for People Living with Dementia

The American Society on Aging is hosting a webinar on trauma informed care for people living with dementia, as part of the National Alzheimer's and Dementia Resource Center webinar series sponsored by the Administration for Community Living. Speakers will discuss principles of trauma-informed care as they apply to dementia in Veterans and Holocaust survivors.
