Speakers Lori Gerhard, Director of Interagency Innovation at ACL and Eduard Bartholme, Associate Bureau Chief-CGB at the Federal Communications Commission, will be leading this webinar to discuss FCC's Emergency Broadband Benefit program (EBB). EBB helps households struggling to pay for internet service during the pandemic by connecting them to jobs, critical healthcare services, and virtual classrooms. The webinar will cover eligibility, how EBB works, and how to help people enroll, there will also be a brief question and answer period following the presentation.

Resources for Integrated Care (RIC) is hosting a webinar to discuss the key role health plans play in making vaccine access equitable and providing education about the importance of COVID-19 vaccines to plan members. This webinar will provide strategies for how health plans can support access to vaccines for dually eligible individuals.

Improving Social Connection Among People with Disabilities

Event Description: 

Even prior to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, social isolation and loneliness were identified as significant public health concerns, placing people at higher risk for serious medical conditions. Research conducted during the pandemic indicates that people with disabilities may be at an increased risk of social isolation and loneliness. This webinar will highlight current research on social isolation and loneliness for people with disabilities. Presenters will also share strategies for social engagement and connection from the Center for Independent Living network.

The focus of this final TBI Tuesday session will be on TBI State Advisory Boards/Councils and how to better engage members, especially individuals with brain injury. Two TBI State Partnership Program (SPP) grantees (Tennessee and West Virginia) will present on the TBI SPP Advisory Board Toolkit. You will also hear from ACL's federal partner from the Office of Independent Living Programs at ACL on the importance of consumer engagement.
