The Grandfamilies & Kinship Support Network and partners at USAging have created a toolkit to support state agencies and members of the aging network in starting a kin caregiver support service program. The toolkit includes the following topics:
• Getting to Know Kin Caregivers & Involving Them in Program Development
• Assessing Community Needs
• Kin Caregiver Service Needs
• Root Cause Analysis, Change Theory, and Logic Models
• Leveraging Partnerships to Better Support Kin Caregivers
The toolkit also includes two supplemental documents that profile programs that are addressing common challenges, including staff and infrastructure needs and transportation barriers.
