Long-Term Services and Supports: The Future Role and Challenges for Medicaid

According to a report by the Kaiser Foundation, Medicaid has become the major payer for long-term services and supports to low-income individuals, and a safety-net for those who become impoverished as a result of long-term care needs. In addition to concerns about the high costs of long-term care, recent developments have drawn attention to challenges facing Medicaid as a provider of long-term care. This paper describes these challenges and other issues facing the Medicaid program going forward.

Oklahoma Partnership Manual Handouts

The fundamental structure to both of Oklahoma's Real Choice System Change grants is an infrastructure that supports a service delivery system that is accountable to Oklahoma long-term care stakeholders. Grant monies will be used to create and support an Oklahoma Partnerships consisting of consumers and advocates. The Oklahoma Department of Human Services Aging Service Division presents this documentation of the principles and processes used in supporting its consumer advisory committee for Real Choice System Change grant and CDPASS grant activities. Building and documenting a shared vision of effective public policy funded by public dollars is a fundamental responsibility of grant recipients. Working with Disability - Medicaid Expenditures In Brief

To assist the CMS in monitoring the Medicaid Buy-In program, Mathematica has developed a series reports and policy briefs that present quantitative measures of participation in the program. For both the issue briefs and the statistical profile, researchers built a new longitudinal person-level database on Buy-In participants that contains information provided by the states as well as data from the SSI and SSDI programs and from Medicaid and Medicare programs.
