State Medicaid Fact Sheets Online Tool

This new interactive online tool provides the latest key data for each state’s Medicaid program and the population it serves, allowing for easy comparisons of one state to any other state or to the nation as a whole, on a selection of important indicators. Utilizing figures from the Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured and drawn directly from statehealthfacts.org, this tool provides customized figures and tables that can be easily printed as fact sheets, emailed or saved.

Department of Transportation (DOT) Disability Law Guidance

Four new guidance documents were released interpreting the DOT Americans with Disabilities Act Regulations. The documents carry out the ADA intent and its regulation to protect the civil rights of people with disabilities. The documents are titled: Origin to Destination Service; Full-Length, Level-Boarding Platforms in New Commuter and Intercity Rail Stations; Paratransit Requirements for §5311-Funded Fixed-Route Service Operated by Private Entities; Use of \"Segways\" on Transportation Vehicles.

Working Together: Personal Assistance Training and You

This online publication was developed for people with disabilities or chronic illnesses who direct their personal assistance services. The resource provides information on how to recruit and interview, how to check a candidate's background and references, and how to train new attendants. It outlines the rights of both caregivers and care recipients and covers topics like problem solving, conflict resolution, setting boundaries, and working with a PCA who may also be a friend or a relative.

Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Coverage: A Web Site for People with Developmental Disabilities

This web site will help individuals who receive Medicaid and Medicare benefits, known as dual eligibles, their families and caregivers, and advocates for people with disabilities understand the new Medicare prescription drug coverage, called Part D. Part of the Medicaid Reference Desk, this web-tool also offers a timeline of key dates, a glossary of terms, information for making coverage decisions and tools for plan comparisons.

This disability preparedness website provides practical information on how people with and without disabilities can prepare for an emergency. It also provides information for family members of, and service providers to, people with disabilities. In addition, this site includes information for emergency planners and first responders to help them to better prepare for serving persons with disabilities.

West Virginia Real Choice Community Outreach Material

For the last two years, WV Real Choice has worked in collaboration with other agencies and organizations to create improvements in long term support systems so persons with disabilities and/or long term illnesses can make their own choices and have the necessary supports to live and work in their communities. Family Voices of North Dakota Website and E-newsletter

Family Voices of North Dakota is a state chapter of the National Family Voices organization and provides health information and education. New Jersey Family Care - Website and Presentations

New Jersey Family Care is a federal and state-funded health insurance program which helps uninsured children receive affordable health coverage.
