The Housing and Services Resource Center was created for people who work in the space of housing resources and homelessness services, behavioral and mental health services, independent living services and other supportive services. The Center is part of a partnership between the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to expand affordable housing, improve home and community-based services, and address bias in America's long-term care system.

USAging is hosting this no-cost, four-month Community of Practice, on Zoom, from August to November 2022. The goal of the Intergenerational Community of Practice is to facilitate the development and enhancement of intergenerational programming aimed at addressing social isolation and loneliness .

The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is has released a request for information to assist in defining a set of key determinants of health that addresses all the elements of the whole person health model, including factors that can influence health either positively or negatively, and that encompass the full continuum of biological, behavioral, social, and environmental domains.

At a recent Medicaid Pathways Program (MPP) meeting, Estelle Richman, CHCS board chair, shared some valuable lessons from her 30+ years’ experience as a public servant at the federal, state, and local level. Estelle has held several positions, including Chief Operating Officer at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, Managing Director for the City of Philadelphia, and Philadelphia’s Commissioner of Public Health.

A 2020 study, developed and led by people with disabilities, examined member engagement and outcomes in the Massachusetts One Care Program, which provides comprehensive, integrated, coordinated care for dually eligible individuals under 65. The Better Care Playbook spoke with Dennis Heaphy, MPH, MEd, MDiv, a policy analyst and health justice advocate at the Massachusetts Disability Policy Consortium and a One Care member, to learn more about the findings of the One Care study. This NRP article discusses the delay many states are experiencing in regard to accessing funding from the American Rescue Plan Act, signed into law in March 2021. The increased funding could be used by states to boost wages, move people off waiting lists for disability services, train more workers, and expand covered services for older adults and people with disabilities, however the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services must provide approval before states can fully access their funds.
