Evaluating Nursing Home Transition in Michigan

Staying the Course: Trends in Family Caregiving

Informal caregiving has long been the most common source of long-term care for older persons with disability however; a number of factors such as demographic trends may reduce the supply of traditional family caregivers and changes in the LTC delivery system indicate the need to track the changes. This paper examines key trends in family caregiving patterns. The findings should help to inform public policy debates and the data provides evidence of the need to provide adequate long-term services.

The New Hampshire Home Care Connections Project: Results of the Needs Survey at Baseline Summer 2005

This baseline survey has the reviews of professionals working with those at risk of losing their subsidized housing and entering a nursing facility due to emotional, cognitive, or behavioral issues. The survey was also used to better understand and identify risk factors, and import services, associated with nursing home placement, its avoidance, and training needs.

Consumer and Family Perspectives on Services Provided by Connecticut’s State Agencies: Do citizens with disabilities perceive agency activities as supportive of self-determination and consumer empowerment?

To what extent have several key state agencies and bureaus embedded concepts such as partnerships with families and citizens with disabilities, consumer decision making and self-determination into the training of their staff? This report is a follow up companion to a previous study and provides a good window onto 'grass roots' perspectives of consumers and families receiving services while informing agencies about how their particular efforts compare to those undertaken by others.

Major and Unusual Incident System Reports: Ohio

The Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities has been implementing an internet-based centralized reporting system to report and track major and unusual incidents. The following MUI Reports for 2004 include data such as total incidents and total MUI by category and county. The web-based reporting and tracking system have been very successful in improving timeliness and monitoring quality.

This new interactive online tool provides the latest key data for each state’s Medicaid program and the population it serves, allowing for easy comparisons of one state to any other state or to the nation as a whole, on a selection of important indicators.
