Equity and Inclusion

The Center for Health Care Strategies released an article on the advancement of equitable practices and explores advancing integrated models for further inclusion of all populations in service delivery. The article explores best practices from Hill Country Health and Wellness Center in rural northern California as they work towards greater implementation of equitable practices.

Paula Basta, M.Div., Director, Illinois Department on Aging and ADvancing States Member, wrote a guest blog post for ACL about the unique challenges of LGBTQ+ older adults. The blog post highlights the specific struggles this population is facing in Illinios regarding descrimination, representation in aging services, chronic and mental health, and securing access to care, as well as touches on some inititiaves that are being developed to address these issues.

In honor of Pride month, ACL has published a blog post highlighting the experiences of LGBTQ+ people with disabilities and the challeges many face in advocating for equity and inclusion. The blog post also outlines the various measures ACL has taken to ensure the diverse needs of the community are met, specficially for individuals with IDD.
