Informational Materials for the MBIWD Project - Ohio

In this collection of informational materials, Ohio outlines what its Medicaid Buy-In for Workers with Disabilities (MBIWD) program is. Documents include an explanatory booklet, flyer and fact sheets. A website link with the government site that houses these documents, application forms and additional information is also included. While this material was intended for consumer use, it could serve as a guide to other states contemplating or running a similar MIG program.

Country Caring: The PACE Model, Fine-Tuned in Urban Areas, is now Being Adapted to Serve Rural Seniors

While Programs for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) began as an urban model, CMS has now provided its first grants to expand the program to rural areas. Read this article to as an introduction to three rural PACE programs that have launched in South Carolina, Oklahoma, and Montana. The article concludes with lessons learned and contact info for staff that work on these programs.

Understanding Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) – Presentation

The presenters relate information and an Illinois case study on this affordable housing funding strategy. TBRA is tied directly to a MFP recipient’s income level, thereby overcoming limitations of other strategies such as development subsidies and Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8). Similar to a voucher, TBRA covers the gab between fair market rent and a percentage of a recipient’s income.

Surveying Persons with Disabilities: A Source Guide

Mathematica created these compendia of abstracts, summaries, and references in an effort to provide to the public current and easily accessible research on the methodological issues of surveying persons with disabilities. Sources include online journals and websites, conference materials, citations from articles and books, and working papers and dissertations. Version 1, released June 2006, lists 150 resources. Version 2, released October 2008, adds 75.

Final Overview Report on Aging Services Network Community-Based Low-Income Subsidy Enrollment Campaign

This report provides an overview of the activities of n4a, in partnership with AoA and CMS, and the contracts provided to 31 community-based organizations to implement community-based low-income subsidy enrollment campaigns. It contains helpful information on outreach techniques, including how to reach specific populations, including low income and rural groups.

National Center for Telehealth & Technology

The National Center for Telehealth and Technology (T2) researches, develops, evaluates, and deploys new and existing technologies for Psychological Health (PH) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) across the Department of Defense. T2 manages several programs to treat PH and TBI in service members and their families, including an extensive Telehealth program which provides PH services to patients in remote areas, who would otherwise not have access to care, as well as programs for deployed members.
