Rhode Island’s Participant Guide includes general information about the program and details about roles and responsibilities. The guide includes sections on getting started with the program, completing spending plans, addressing personal issues, and managing emergencies.

This assessment is designed to help participants identify any barriers that prevent them from accessing or moving about their primary residence. The assessment aids in the development of goals related to their ability to perform their Activities of Daily Living and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living.

This functional assessment tool is designed to provide a user-friendly method to determine an applicant’s personal care assistance needs. The assessment helps to establish the individual monthly budget and identify the applicant’s goals.

This policy brief addresses opportunities for integrating care for this high-cost, high-need population. The brief outlines the rationale for integrating care for duals, reasons why integration has been slow to progress, and emerging vehicles to accelerate the pace of fully integrated care. Check out ePolicyWorks, a collaborative, information-sharing initiative between national policy-makers and stakeholders, managed by the Office of Disability Employment Policy. It addresses barriers to employment for individuals with disabilities, using web-based technology to enable communication between departments on key policy areas. The workspace contains news, a bulletin board to post info, social networking and eWorkgroup capacities. The initiative is currently focusing on health care.

This bibliography summarizes current thinking about developing core competencies for all direct care workers, regardless of the setting they work in. It includes recommendations from six state-level reports, two national studies, and the federal Retooling the Health Care Workforce for an Aging America Act.

Rhode Island’s Quick Start Guide is designed to give participants an overview of the PersonalChoice program and their roles and responsibilities. The guide includes information on service and spending plans, communication tips, and information about working with PersonalChoice support agencies.

This letter provides clarification on the receipt of Federal funds under the SSA Ticket to Work program and encourages utilization of the program’s flexible funding offers. Policy clarifications regarding State Medicaid providers’ acceptance and the treatment of SSA ticket payments are included, as well as clarification regarding the prohibition of using Ticket Outcome and Milestone payments as the State share of financial participation.

These presentations were part of the 2007 Government and Vendor Fiscal/Employer Agent Workshop. The presentations given by West Virginia, New Mexico, and New Jersey representatives explore the benefits and challenges of providing supportive and F/EA services under one umbrella organization versus providing them through separate vendor entities.
