Johns Hopkins Study: COVID-19 Vaccination in Patients with Chronic Conditions

COVID-19 Antibody Testing of Patients with Chronic Conditions is being led by a team of researchers at Johns Hopkins Medicine. The purpose of the study is to determine the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine as well as COVID-19 antibody levels in patients who receive the vaccine with the following chronic conditions: HIV, an autoimmune condition, cirrhosis, or on home dialysis.

Risk Factors for COVID-19 Mortality among Privately Insured Patients: A Claims Data Analysis

FAIR Health recently published a study that highlights the relationship between preexisting comorbidities of COVID-19 and mortality in privately insured patients. The study describes those most vulnerable to severe COVID-19 outcomes, which helps to inform prevention, treatment and possible protocols for vaccine distribution prioritization, once developed. This study builds on FAIR Health’s series of five COVID-19 briefs that have highlighted the widespread economic impact of the pandemic.
