This site provides information and resources to Deaf and Hard of Hearing population living in Nebraska. The mission is to improve the quality of life for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people of all ages by providing assistance, advocacy and access to services and information.

Alpha One, a Center for Independent Living, has enabled thousands of people with disabilities to live more fully and more independently in all aspects of their lives. Alpha One annually assists more than 4,000 people of all ages, including children and the elderly, with a range of disabilities. The below website link can provide additional information.

The Aged and Disabled Medicaid Waiver program in Nebraska is a service system based upon the belief that people with care needs should have options for receiving services. After thorough needs identification and service planning, eligible persons are offered the choice of receiving home and community-based services or entering a nursing home. This waiver allows Medicaid money to be used to purchase services that are not usually considered \"medical\".

Medicare is our country’s health insurance program for people age 65 or older, certain people with disabilities who are under age 65 and people of any age who have permanent kidney failure. It provides basic protection against the cost of health care, but it doesn’t cover all medical expenses or the cost of most long-term care.
