First Course is an intensive culinary training program in Keene, New Hampshire. Their curriculum is designed to provide individuals with a solid foundation in the food service and hospitality industry. How has New Hampshire used its MIG funds to support the career goals of individuals with disabilities? One approach was to develop training tools for job developers and administrative staff who are interested in hiring, training and supporting employees with disabilities. The following examples include a survey, staff certification information and a brochure for a series of workshops. These are available here for other states who have, or are interested in implementing similar programs.

As one of seven centers at the University's Institute on Disability and Community, it conducts research and provides training, assistance and information to individuals, families, professionals and communities.

This report provides a comprehensive overview of the state of housing in the 21st century and answers important questions about current housing needs and options for people with disabilities in the U.S. It provides evidence of what can be effective in meeting the range of housing needs, including promising practices drawn from real examples, and lessons learned from experts working on housing issues and policy. The report was transmitted to the President of the US; that letter is also attached.

The assessment aids in the development of goals related to their ability to perform their Activities of Daily Living and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living.

SSA’s Office of Employment Support Programs (OESP), CMS and SAMHSA hosted a two day summit focusing on its Ticket to Work Program and mental health employment services. Presenters gave a series of keynotes and breakout sessions including topics such as dispelling Ticket Program myths, functioning as a successful Employment Network, and evidence-based practice in supported employment.

This series of chart books summarizes demographic, service utilization, and expenditure data for state fiscal years 2001 through 2008 on three Maryland Medicaid waiver programs — Older Adults, Living at Home, and Autism, and on nursing facility utilization among Maryland Medicaid recipients. These books are now available to the public online to monitor trends in these programs.
