The article highlights the importance of Medicaid in supporting older adults and people with disabilities, its important role in Health Care Infrastructure And State Economies, and the public support for the program.

NAMD has released a report on leveraging American Rescue Plan Act investments to drive lasting transformation for people with complex needs. In summer 2021, NAMD convened an Executive Working Group of state Medicaid LTSS experts and national thought leaders to identify a framework of options that states could use to respond to this opportunity to improve and strengthen these services. The framework explores how states can meet the needs of individuals to maximize their health.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released a final rule in April 2016, that implements mental health parity in Medicaid, a requirement of the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008 (MHPAEA). The National Association of Medicaid Directors (NAMD) published a comprehensive summary of the final rule.
