COVID-19 Bulletin: New Findings Show Risk Education Can Save Lives During the Pandemic

BellAge has released new findings from their CV19 CheckUp survey that show risk education can help save lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. Findings include that most adults (79%) dangerously underestimate the lethal threat risk that COVID-19 poses to older adults, and when informed of the true magnitude or the lethal threat risks, most of respondents (63%) say they would modify their behaviors to keep older adults and loved ones safe. BellAge, Inc. COVID-19 Bulletin: Michigan's Debut of CV19 CheckUp

This report offers initial results and findings from COVID-19 CheckUp, a service provided by BellAge, Inc. to help governments capture actionable data regarding the pandemic in near real-time. The service is currently in use by the governments of New York, Florida, Michigan, Los Angeles, and St. Louis. The first issue of the Bulletin focuses on COVID-19 risk related findings from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services CV19 CheckUp launch.

Section 8 Made Simple - Special Edition: Using the Housing Choice Voucher Program to End Chronic Homelessness

The Technical Assistance Collaborative, Inc. (TAC) released a new update to their guidebook, “Section 8 Made Simple - Special Edition: Using the Housing Choice Voucher Program to End Chronic Homelessness,” with support of the Melville Charitable Trust. The guidebook explains how to use fair housing law and federal guidance to make the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program accessible to people with disabilities, and adds a new focus on helping those who are experiencing chronic homelessness.

Priced Out in 2014

This report is a study of the severe housing affordability problems experienced by people with disabilities. Priced Out calculates the difference between what an individual receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) can reasonably afford to pay for housing costs and the average cost of modest housing units. The report confirms that non-elderly adults with disabilities living on SSI confront an enormous housing affordability gap across the entire nation.
