Final Week to Apply: Making Care Primary (MCP) Model

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) have issued a notice that the deadline for applying to participate in the Making Care Primary (MCP) Model is next week. The MCP application is non-binding and should take no more than 15 minutes to complete. Eligibility requirements and additional model details can be found in the Request for Applications (RFA). To support interested applicants in their decision-making, CMS has published an Example Revenue Factsheet which compares potential revenue under Medicare fee-for-service to potential revenue under MCP. Request for Applications (RFA) for the Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience (GUIDE) Model Now Available

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is currently accepting applications for the Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience (GUIDE) Model, which aims to support people living with dementia and their caregivers. The GUIDE Model will test whether providing an alternative payment methodology for participating dementia care programs to deliver a package of care management and coordination, caregiver education and support, and GUIDE Respite Services to Medicare beneficiaries with dementia and their caregivers reduces expenditures while preserving or enhancing quality of care. CMS Announces Request for Applications for the “Making Care Primary” Model

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released a Request for Applications (RFA) detailing model payment, care delivery, quality, and other policies for the Making Care Primary (MCP) Model. CMS announced the new voluntary primary care model in June to improve care and strengthen coordination between primary care clinicians, specialists, social service providers, and behavioral health clinicians as well as address individuals’ health-related social needs. Stating July 1, 2024, CMS will test the 10.5 year model in eight states— Colorado, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, and Washington—and will work with these states’ Medicaid agencies to align their programs with the new model...
