Medicaid Work Incentive Network (M-WIN) – West Virginia

M-WIN is West Virginia’s Buy-In program, enabling workers with disabilities to buy Medicaid benefits in exchange premium payments based on a sliding scale. The flyer directs potential consumers to a 1-800 number for more information and to begin participation. The spec sheet gives detailed eligibility information.

WorkStrides Career Development Program – Washington

The goal of this copyrighted program is to help those facing the most significant challenges to employment to gain economic self-sufficiency. The two-tiered “train the trainer” strategy includes career development curriculum for counselors to develop necessary skills. Counselors then conduct workshops with customers to develop portfolios of skills and strengths. Resources available here include the proposal, an introductory presentation and brochure, and trainer and participant manuals.

Developmental Disabilities Medicaid Eligibility Explained – Washington

Find here examples of communications used to answer questions about eligibility and the application process for waiver programs. The Grays Harbor Job Tailoring Cooperative provides customized employment support to jobseekers with disabilities. Refer to the flowchart for a visualization of the basic project structure. The flyer was used to recruit people to take part in a participant-driven project wherein participants create and coordinate a trusted support team to assist in finding and maintaining employment.

HIV/AIDS and Older Americans Marketing Tools

HIV/AIDS is not just a young person's disease. Fifteen percent of new HIV/AIDS cases are among Americans over age 50. Many older people with HIV do not know they are infected because they have never been tested. These marketing tools are designed to help organizations raise awareness of the impact of HIV/AIDS on older people and why all sexually active Americans, including those over 50, should get tested for HIV as part of their routine health care. They are not copyrighted and are free to use.

Freedom to Work Information and Marketing Materials – South Dakota

South Dakota’s Freedom to Work (FTW) project provides supports to job seekers with disabilities. Here are examples of tools used to publicize the project. The FTW brochure summarizes all associated services, while the Personal Assistance Services brochure and poster and the Work Incentives Planning and Assistance brochure provide more detailed information for those particular services. The website has relevant links and quarterly newsletters about FTW.
