Seeing Seniors: Shaping The Future of Aging in NH –Video Clip

ServiceLink, the New Hampshire ADRC grantee, along with New Hampshire Public Television and Easter Seals NH/Seniors Count have developed a year-long community outreach project. The partnership resulted in six feature stories on a nightly newsmagazine and community forums in four locations across the state bringing seniors and caregivers together with local leaders to begin planning the kind of communities they want as they age. Caregivers Count Too! - A Toolkit to Help Practitioners Assess the Needs of Family Caregivers

The National Center on Caregiving at Family Caregiver Alliance (FCA) has developed a new online resource. The toolkit is a practical resource targeted to practitioners and program administrators interested in integrating caregiver assessment into their work with caregiving families, older people and adults with disabilities. The Official Homepage for Nursing Facility Transition Resources

The New Jersey Association of Centers for Independent Living website provides resources that can help users transition successfully. Centers for Independent Living (CILs) are consumer-driven organizations, owned and operated by individuals with disabilities. New Jersey has a network of 12 CILs that provide the core services of Information and Referral, Peer Support, Independent Living Skills Training, and Advocacy. HOME Participating Jurisdiction\'s Open Activities Reports

A new monthly report from HUD is available on-line and is broken down state-by-state and downloadable in an MS Excel spreadsheet. Participating Jurisdiction (PJs) can use the reports to view open activities in IDIS including activities with 100% of the funds drawn and with a status code of FD, or final draw. PJs can view activities that have been open (OP) for several years with little or no HOME funds drawn. These projects, if not progressing, should be cancelled. The data is updated monthly.

Referral Registry and Workforce Resource Centers Website

Managed by the Home Care Quality Authority (HCQA), a public agency in Washington, this Registry is a customized internet-based system designed to match the needs of publicly funded in-home consumers/employers with pre-qualified individual providers. The day-to-day operations are administered by Referral and Workforce Resource Centers (RWRCs). Local sites offer programs and services including referral searches, a Resource Clearinghouse and outreach materials such as the attached newsletter.

Assistive Technology Literature Database

Designed to provide a comprehensive, searchable bibliography summarizing research on cognitive technologies, this database can be utilized by persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The database is structured to allow visitors to identify research articles relevant to their specific needs. Users can enter a specific search term or go to an \"advanced search\" page where users search by keyword, author name, journal, category of assistive technology, or other fields.

The National Direct Service Workforce Resource Center Website

Launched by CMS, the center provides information and assistance to state and local governments, policy makers, researchers, employers, workers and consumers. The Resource Center offers a comprehensive on-line database, information through a toll-free telephone number, and individualized, in-depth technical assistance for selected State Medicaid Agencies. A new site from the Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute, the Health Care for Health Care Workers (HCHCW) initiative houses information about the widespread lack of health care coverage among direct-care workers. The number of uninsured is rising while demand for direct care grows and HCHCW is working to reverse that trend.
