Overview of ADRC Program – Online Training

Learn about the purpose, goals and activities of ADRCs. This course is geared towards ADRC staff, as well as others serving people with needs for long-term care information, services and supports. Internship Program Website - Vermont

How are internships being utilized in employment programs for people with disabilities? Vermont created an internship program to facilitate the placement of interns throughout their state government. A program overview and information for agencies and interns is available on Vermont’s Department of Human Resources website. This program could serve as an example for other MIG states seeking to implement a similar program.

Creative Workforce Solutions - Vermont

How can states make the employment of people with disabilities easier and more desirable to local business? As part of their MIG grant, Vermont has created Creative Workforce Solutions, a website designed to give employers information and support on hiring individuals with disabilities. Designed with the look and feel of a more standard employment site rather than that of a government program, it provides many useful resources and information to employers, including consulting services.

Abilities Email Newsletter - Vermont

Vermont's GCEPD program uses its bi-monthly newsletter, "Abilities", to provide stories, information, and resources about the employment of individuals with disabilities. Each issue focuses on a particular disability-related topic and usually highlights a successful employment scenario. An archive of these issues is available and could serve as an example to other MIG states.

Searchable Transportation and Employment Provider Database – West Virginia

Facilitating user accessibility on a website can turn it into a vital and frequently accessed tool. As part of West Virginia's MIG grant, two databases were added to the Center for Excellence in Disabilities website, a searchable statewide transportation provider directory and statewide employment provider directory. This system displays easily updatable resources to those looking for employment and transportation information. The links to these databases are provided.

Ride in 55 – West Virginia

Transportation moves people to healthcare, education and training, work, recreation, and to worship. It helps people with disabilities join their communities in work and economic activities. Ride in 55 is West Virginia's MIG grant funded program designed to maximize transportation opportunities for residents in all 55 counties and to encourage the best use of transportation resources. A link to the website is provided, and the site could serve as a template for similar programs in other states.

Family Voices of Indiana – Website and Yahoo Group

Share advocacy opportunities and updated information on issues that impact Indiana families of children with disabilities or special needs. Family Voices of Indiana advocates for disability services that are family-centered, community-based, comprehensive, coordinated and culturally competent for all children and youth with disabilities. Consider the idea of using social marketing for your F2F center or join this group to share information, collaborate and advocate through their Yahoo site.

Integrating Care for Dual Eligibles - Toolkit

The Center for Health Care Strategies works with states, health plans and federal policymakers to spearhead innovative approaches for integrating Medicare and Medicaid services. They have developed an online toolkit which includes policy-related materials, program design, financing, performance measurement and consumer engagement using hands-on tools to help guide state efforts, and sample documents from states that have successfully implemented integrated approaches. NTAR Leadership Center Website

View the National Technical Assistance and Research center’s (NTAR) website. Their mission is to promote leadership for increasing the employment and economic independence of adult with disabilities. The site includes information on their State Leaders Innovation Institute and State Peer Leaders Network, as well as an extensive library of resources including research projects and products, audio conferences, presentations and webinars.
