Policy Statement on Inclusion of Children with Disabilities in Early Childhood Programs

The U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Education (ED) recently released an updated joint policy statement on supporting the inclusion of children with disabilities in early childhood programs. The policy statement reiterates expectations for inclusive early childhood settings and updates recommendations for state and local agencies that implement Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Head Start, child care, home visit, preschool, and public school programs to increase inclusive early learning opportunities for all children. 2021 Conference on Independent Living: Call for Workshop Proposals

The National Council on Independent Living is seeking proposals for their Liberty, Independence, Freedom, and Equity themed 2021 conference. NCIL seeks workshops in the following tracks: Advocacy & Policy work, Independent Living 101, Core Services, Inclusion/Intersectional work, SILC. The submission deadline in March 28th 2021.

Serving Diverse Elders: Strategies for Meaningful Inclusion in Service Planning and Delivery

This guide provides tools, resources, and best practices that the Aging Network can use as a reference to plan services and programs that are more inclusive to these diverse elders. The guide outlines background information on diverse elders; discusses how to asses the needs of this population and include them in the planning process; and highlights inclusive goals, objectives, and measures of success.
