June 2022 Report to Congress on Medicaid and CHIP

MACPAC has released its June 2022 Report to Congress on Medicaid and CHIP. The report recommends measures that Congress can take to better monitor access to care for Medicaid beneficiaries, improve the oversight and transparency of managed care directed payments, increase access to vaccines for adults enrolled in Medicaid, encourage the uptake of health information technology in behavioral health, and better integrate care for Medicaid and Medicare dual-eligibles. The commission also offers policy levers that states and the federal government can use to promote equity in Medicaid.

Accepting Proposals for the AIRS Fall Conference

The Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS) is accepting session proposals for its fall conference, Envision I&R. This conference for I&R professionals will be held October 17-18, 2022, in Baltimore, Maryland. AIRS is seeking proposals across the breadth of I&R service delivery. Proposals are due by 5:00 p.m. ET on Friday, July 15, 2022.

Toolkit for Partner-Led Convenings

The White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health has released a toolkit allowing partners to provide input into the development and implementation of a national strategy on hunger, nutrition, and health that will be announced in September 2022. The toolkit is designed to faciliate conversations with members about ending hunger, improving nutrition, and increasing physical activity.

First Meeting of President Biden’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities

On June 2, 2022 20 citizen members were sworn in as members of the President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities (PCPID). The PCPID is now preparing for it's first public committee meeting on Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to to 4:00 p.m. ET. Comments and suggestions from people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are strongly encouraged. Comments received by June 30, 2022 will be shared with the PCPID at the July meeting.

This national data is broken down by program, population, and individual state. The enrollment data provides a snapshot of Medicaid managed care enrollment as of July 1, 2020.

Intergenerational Community of Practice

Submit your application to join other service providers as they share and gain wisdom on how intergenerational programming can support social connectedness. USAging is hosting this no-cost, four-month Community of Practice, on Zoom, from August to November 2022. The goal of the Intergenerational Community of Practice is to facilitate the development and enhancement of intergenerational programming aimed at addressing social isolation and loneliness .

Consistency of preventive care among Medicare beneficiaries: a longitudinal analysis using data from the 2016–2019 Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey

CMS has released a new data highlight on Consistency of Preventive Care Among Medicare Beneficiaries. The data highlight uses data from the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey to analyze adherence to flu shot and breast cancer screening guidelines among Medicare beneficiaries between 2016 and 2019. The data highlight breaks this information down to look at the rates among different demographic groups.

A MPA is a cross-sector, state-led strategic planning resource that can help states transform the infrastructure and coordination of services for their aging population and people with disabilities.
