First Meeting of President Biden’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities

On June 2, 2022 20 citizen members were sworn in as members of the President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities (PCPID). The PCPID is now preparing for it's first public committee meeting on Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to to 4:00 p.m. ET. Comments and suggestions from people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are strongly encouraged. Comments received by June 30, 2022 will be shared with the PCPID at the July meeting.

Preparing for Medicaid Changes When the Public Health Emergency Expires

When the federal declaration of a public health emergency (PHE) expires, many of the flexibilities initiated during COVID-19 will need to be rolled back, including changes in Medicaid enrollment and eligibility. ACL has developed a fact sheet to help grantees prepare for these changes ahead and continue to support older adults and people with disabilities who currently rely on Medicaid Coverage.

ACL Issues Nutrition Awards and Determines Process for Distributing Funds from the COVID-19 Response & Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021

ACL awarded the $175 million for Nutrition Services and Native American Nutrition and Supportive Services to enhance ongoing community efforts begun with the support of previous COVID-19 supplemental appropriations.
