The Administration for Community Living (ACL) has announced a funding opportunity under the Alzheimer’s Disease Programs Initiative (ADPI) titled Developing Dementia-Capable Community Health Worker Programs in the National Aging Network. ACL plans to award up to 12 cooperative agreements, with approximately $9 million in total funding. Individual awards are expected to range from $700,000 to $750,000.

Through ADPI, ACL seeks to enhance workforce capacity in the National Aging Network by supporting the inclusion of dementia-capable Community Health Workers (CHWs). CHWs play a key role in improving health outcomes in communities that experience high rates of disease, disability, and death. This initiative supports dementia-capable home and community-based services for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. It also aims to strengthen relationships with rural and underserved populations and address barriers to care.

Applications are due Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
