IHI is a reliable source of energy, knowledge, and support for a never-ending campaign to improve health care worldwide.

HealthScope is a public information source provided by the Pacific Business Group on Health (PBGH) to help a person select quality healthcare in California. You can view quality healthcare ratings on health plans, hospitals, and medical groups.

Presented May 2004 these slides speak to the issues of quality in the ever growing arena of HCBS services. Growth in funding and growth in people served in self-directed services presents challenges for assuring quality. The slides speak to CMS Quality Initiatives and the Quality Framework Focus Areas.

The Delmarva Foundation for Medical Care assists the State of Florida in improving the quality of care for Florida citizens with developmental disabilities. This website is one part of our Fl Quality Assurance Program & includes: Resource Center with training and information opportunities for providers, consumers, family members and other stakeholders; Waiver Support Coordination Consultation (WiSCC) Tool for DD; Collaborative Outcomes Review and Enhancement Review (CORE) Protocol also for DD.

The Delaware Health and Social Services (DHSS), Division of Developmental Disabilities Services (DDDS), requested proposals to select a contractor to provide consultation in the area of Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) in Home and Community Based Services. The Request for Proposals was numbered NO. PSC617 and due by 08/13/04. Funds were available under a grant from the Centers for Medicare and Medical Services (CMS).

Recognizing the diversity and the different ways to health, the mission of the Cross Cultural Health Care Program is to serve as a bridge between communities and health care institutions to ensure full access to quality health care that is culturally and linguistically appropriate. Through a combination of cultural competency trainings, interpreter trainings, research projects, community coalition building, and other services, the CCHCP serves as a bridge.

On October 5, 2004, HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson announced $31 million in grants to 31 states to help people with disabilities or long-term illnesses live in their homes and participate fully in community life. The grants were awarded under the New freedom Initiative and are known as Real Choice Systems Change Grants. A total of 52 grants were awarded in nine categories. This communication is part of CMS’ on-going effort to share information about developments in the field that positively impact the quality of services & supports provided through the Medicaid HCBS program. Participant Experience Survey (PES) – Elderly/Disabled Software arrived with this memo. The software automatically calculates the indicators & generates a report.
