Call for Sessions: Advancing Person-Centered, Trauma-Informed Care for Older Adults

The Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) Center on Aging, Trauma, and Holocaust Survivor Care is holding a Training Workshop in June 2025. JFNA is seeking breakout session proposals for the training event. This is the only event in North America dedicated to innovations in aging and person-centered, trauma-informed (PCTI) services. The event participants will connect with hundreds of professionals, experts, community leaders, academic leaders, and policymakers in the aging space. Session proposals are due before 11:59 p.m. ET, Thursday, January 9, 2025.

The Influence of Disability Models on Person-Centeredness in Home and Community-Based Services

The Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Home and Community-Based Services has released their first issue brief. The brief explores the medical, social, and biopsychosocial models of disability, their relationship with evolving frameworks of person-centeredness, and implications for providers and others who deliver services and supports.

National Survey: Person-Centered, Trauma-Informed Care

The Center on Aging and Trauma of The Jewish Federations of North America’s Holocaust Survivor Initiative, invites organizations to participate in a national survey on PCTI Care. This ACL grantee is working to build the capacity of aging service providers to provide PCTI care to older adults with a history of trauma as well as their family caregivers. They are conducting this survey to collect information on the current capacity of organizations to provide this type of care.
