This report profiles enrollment statistics on Medicaid managed care programs on a plan-specific level. It provides national-level summary tables relating to trends, breakout of managed care entities, managed care enrollment by state, regional breakout and states with comprehensive health care reform demonstrations. The information was collected from State Medicaid agencies and CMS Regional Offices.

WASHINGTON STATE PARTNERs TO COORDINATE CARE FOR MEDICARE-MEDICAID ENROLLEES: MOU

Washington is the first state to enter into a MOU to participate in the new managed-fee-for-service Demonstration to integrate the service delivery across primary, acute, prescription drugs, behavioral health and LTSS. This document details the principles under which CMS and the State plan to implement and operate the Demonstration. It also outlines the activities CMS and the State plan to conduct in preparation for implementation of the Demonstration and initiate the Demonstration.

General Guidance on Federally-Facilitated Exchanges

This document outlines the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) approach to implementing a Federally-facilitated Exchange (FFE) in any State where a State-based Exchange is not operating. This report also provides general guidance on how states can partner with HHS to implement selected functions in an FFE, key policies organized by Exchange function, and how HHS will consult with a variety of stakeholders to implement an FFE.

CMCS Informational Bulletin: Medicaid Information Technology Architecture Guidance – Version 3.0

MITA provides a common framework for all Medicaid stakeholders to focus on opportunities to build common and shared services by decoupling legacy systems and processes, and liberating data previously stored and contained in inaccessible silos. The newest version takes into account new legislative requirements outlined in the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act, the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act, and the Affordable Care Act.

Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS) Informational Bulletin

On February 22, 2012, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) put on display at the Federal Register a final rule that establishes a process to promote State & Federal transparency for Medicaid & Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) demonstrations. The rule is designed to ensure public input in the development, review, & approval of Medicaid and CHIP demonstration projects under section 1115 of the Social Security Act. The final rule will be effective starting April 27, 2012.
